drat!

I missed too many pictures today
because I forget my camera battery
in the charger when I went to work.

There was only one thing I wanted to shoot
but clearly the world conspired against me today.
Now I'm on a photo hunt.....

(and did you know the mascot of the
Parkdale Fire Brigade is Popeye?)

Spring in the air

If we go back a few posts there's a
shot of a snow storm I captioned with
'In like a lion...'
Today feels more like the lamb.

With a little photoshop retouching
this could be Parkdale's latest UFO.
Masaryk-Cowan Park

'at the request of the community'
I never see anyone in this 'parkette' anymore.

I found this on the way to work.
Lamport Stadium, King Street West.

Sunset over Abell St.

The building in the background is 48 Able St.
It's been the edge and the divide for a long time
and now it's going under the wrecking ball.
The entire south side is a construction site
and the recent thaw has flooded everthing.
Able street was on the tracks, and Parkdale
is all about "tracks". This was the good kind.

Brick arches, stained glass, polished marble

almost spring

Put some air in the bike tires
and went for a ride around the hood.
Looks like the first real spring day.

March

This is one of Parkdale (and Toronto's)
original graffiti walls. I've seen things dated '89
but I bet it went back further.

In the forground.... another condo tower goes up.

There's a new wall facing the tracks now,
and I hope it breeds some new legends,
like these guys

daser - virus - ren
I'm not sure the age of the daser piece,
but the virus is old and the ren is ancient.

in like a lion....?

Greetings from the Top Of the World!
Thanks to Kari for taking the flicks.
There will be more Parkdale flicks soon.....
